me playing some blues on my Window ledge on a beeeeeuatiful day in February(?) full of mistakes but hey i was pretty hungover at the time.
Peter Green modification on my Gibson Les Paul std, middle position is magnetically out of phase giving it an almost single coil like sound, perfect for blues with a bit of reverb. when i was researching how to do this mod i struggled to find anything that would help, so if anyone wants to give their Les Paul the same treatment, this is how....
...by removing the pickup cover of either one of the humbuckers, slide out the magnet, flip it over so that the side that was facing down is now facing up, slide back in. thats it! easy, but be careful when you remove the pickup cover (if you have them) i found out the hard way that when removing the solder, the wax keeping the coils wrapped around the magnet melts very easily! easily repaired but I'd have rather not needed to.
hope this helps someone?
Great tone and Great playing ! ..... thanks for the flip info . question please* when you flip the magnet over are you flipping it end to end or flipping it side to side? That is to say, after flipped is the N on the S and vice versa or do the ends remain in the same position? .... thanks again for ur help!

@kedocom its not as simple as just flipping the pup, you have to remove the nickel cover and slide the magnet out from underneath the coils, then flip that over and insert it back in and replace the cover.
The pup itself can face either way, its will not change the sound at all if the pole pieces are facing the bridge or the neck. BUT be careful when removing the covers as the heat needed to take off the solder is insane and i melted a fair bit of wax in the process, sound won't be altered.
