Here I'm cutting a dust hood template from half inch MDF. Cutting at 40 IPM with a 2 flute carbide endmill. 0.183 DOC in 3 passes. Part 2 will explain the part and intended use.

  • You really should cut smaller holes slower than big (large diameter) ones. You could clearly see that the material was sort of pushed around. This is because the drill has to cut in many directions in very short time, and that makes material removal harder, and the entire process gets clearly less efficient.
