That isn't the point. He thought he was fighting for the best form of government, which provided the most freedom. People don't admire him for supporting communism, they admire him for fighting strongly for a cause, being a great leader, and speaking powerful words. He is a symbol of rebellion and revolution everywhere, regardless of what he worked for.

@TheyHearUsNow I don't think people hate those who fight for freedom & free speech, they hate war and the seeming need to fight.

Michael Frati is a tru M.D. bro! Or a great "WARRIOR", depends on the point of view. Love the song!

@ajk718 we can never kill an ideology, Nazism is still around is it not? What we can do is send it back to the stone age. Which is where modern day nazism is.
-
@TheyHearUsNow i actually used to think the way you're thinking then i realized after 10 yrs of the war, u can never end an ideology. you kill 1 terrorist, another one is going to join the fight to avenge the other death. Global jihad is actually spreading. what we're doing is making it spread more. We have to focus on defending our nation and doing something about our borders-- i read that hezbollah is actually in mexico training the drug cartels against us. i'm now supporting Ron Paul 100%!

@freakensweet58 Yes I know its "Peace not war" but frankly you can't run away from Global Jihad. I don't like this song because its anti-war and its disrespectful to our heroes over seas who save countless lives doing what they do.

@TheyHearUsNow Or, madam.

@TheyHearUsNow You do now your "information" is complete nonsense thrown around by the very opinionated right. I've researched some of your claims, you know, and they're claims one finds with no argument whatsoever to support them, with people who are, frankly, either madmen or delusioned supporting them. I'm sorry that ridiculous rhetoric has worked on you, sir.

TheyHearUsNow: what are you even talking about? I don't think you have any idea yourself. I'm 16 and I completely understand the meaning of the song which you obviously don't. Talk some time and listen to the lyrics a couple more times. The entire meaning is basically "peace not war" it has nothing to do with a hippie killing people. That us not depicted or said at all.

my favorite part "Like peter tosh said legalize it!" end of story
