Guided by JR 12X Radio running multiple receivers and satellites.
Model Weighs approx 49kg without fuel. Three different fluids are carried on board - Petrol, Jet A1 and smoke oil .

Scale modelling at its best. It is a credit to owner/builder and display pilot - Chris Venter from Suncoast model Flyers in QLD Australia.

  • @kenupcmac Dude is an exact scale replica of the real plane. that's kinda the whole point ???????

  • Well, I was on AMR's web site, this baby is $2,495.00 and the 400cc Moki radial engine is $6095, plus radio gear batteries, servos, receiver and transmitter, man, you'r looking at $15,000 or more for this model. I ghuess if you have that kind of disposable money around, this is what a guy would buy. I love Ham Radio, one can drop $15,000 there very easily too. Great looking plane though. I did wonder one thing though, could it be powered by a gas or diesel type RC engine instead of a turbo type?

  • @allenjan36 Yeah, it originally flew on just the radial with no problems at all (i.e no turbine). It is just a gas motor (even though it is a radial). You could fly it on anything so long as it had enough thrust. With the current advancement in electric motors and LIPO batteries, perhaps even an electric set up ??

  • This is one gorgeous airplane, I went up in an actual '46 Waco once in North Carolina, it was magnificent. The guy that flew that plane was a retired, Quantas Pilot, hell of a nice guy. One beautifully detailed airplane. I want one. Did you scratch build it? Certainly there are no kits with this kind of exacting detail around. Where did you get that turbine engine and how does it tick? I am fascinated by these turbine engines on RC aircraft. Terrific job. Al

  • @allenjan36 Hi Al, The kit is from AMR in Canada. Have a look at their website, they also do a slightly smaller one than this (I think 33%). Turbine is made by Jetcat, and is a miniature version of the real deal. This model is owned by a friend of mine, and he also has about 5 or 6 other large turbine models. There are only 3 Full size WACO's flying in AUS and I just happen to know the owner of an amazing one. I will post some video of it soon - cruising around Sunshine Coast Australia .

  • @daz167 Thanks for your thoughts Daz. But the turbine is on there as it is an exact scale replica of a real plane - that's the whole point. There are a number of these around the world now, so it seems it is not just us aussies that are crazy.

  • How about this? A turbine powered propell engine? Now that would be awesome

  • Absolutly beautiful! Sure doesn't need the turbine and the Moki is awsome.

  • MMMMMMMMM Moki engine.

You gotta love that sound.Oh yeah, the plane rocks also.

  • il est magnifique cet avion, le prix aussi sans doute, pour un tel jouet, mais bon, c'est bien connu quand on aime on (doit) pas compter, sauf en période de crise

  • Awesome model

  • @kenupcmac Really?
