  • hahaha is funny to see how the drum heads company try and to the test videos on drums like DW, Tama, Pearl or Mapex and the people think that their drums are going to sounds the same right?? They should do their videos with an economic kit haha

  • @tokarev445 I personally find that innovation is the only difference between different brands. Different brands bring different innovations to the table, and people go to the brand that creates the things that they like best. I am personally a Remo guy because I find that I enjoy their ideas more than Evans or Aquarian, but I,by no means whatsoever, find Aquarian and Evans to be bad brands.

  • BTW I'm seeing a bunch of comments castigating Tommy about the "thing" he refers to - its a short commercial so I don't think Evans marketing wanted Mr. Igoe to give a full technical discourse on the heads. He can save that for DVD material :) lol

  • I've used both Remo and Evans and can't really find a qualitative difference between the two brands. Both tune quickly, and last a long time while keeping definitive tone. Why Tommy switched from Remo to Evans is a mystery to me. My skepticism says its a commercial move (good business), but given the benefit of the doubt Tommy may have never used them before and thought they were great. Either way, Remo and Evans are excellent drumhead manufacturers and I'm still a diehard Igoe fan. :)

  • "so im gonna talk about these heads....they have this thing....drummers know....i found mine....the end"

ahhh what a great drum head review

  • Nice sounding heads but facts are all drum heads loose their true tone over time...Usage plays a big role on how long they will actually last but another factor also effects tone...

Humidity-heat-cold-indoor playing in a tiled floor room vs a carpeted floor...Wall and ceiling lined with sound foam (my room) This all plays a role in sonic tone comming from the drums.

The heads are onlt half the sound when you use differant wood shells. No heads last forever they all wear over time.

  • @JTrockdrummer i dont get it

  • @JTrockdrummer I don't understand

  • these or Evans hydraulics??????

  • "it has this thing...... all drummers know what im talking about" way to make me feel like the 1 retarded drummer in the world....

  • Seriously Tommy Igoe, mr. drum teacher? You can't describe the sound of a drumhead? The thing he is talking about is presumably that the drums have an absence of mid-high (overtone) frequencies without the boost of high (attack) frequencies. In other words, they have no overtones yet still have a natural sounding attack, unlike pinstripes.
