Just to clear the record over here too, this is a cover version of this song. It was written by Billy Ray Reynolds, and recorded by Waylon about a decade before this recording. But a great, American original, this song is, and both versions soulfully do it justice.

this is absolutely beautiful. I have the album and the sounds Dickey gets from his guitar is haunting. Great vocals!--just love this song and the way Dickey handles it.

I am a massive Waylon Jennings fan, he did a cover of this tune which was absolutely fantactic, and this version got recommended i am so glad i came to have a listen it is beautiful, thanks to Dickie Betts for giving us this tune.
