Through her research in South America, Dee Boersma, professor of biology at the University of Washington, Seattle, has found that a changing climate has caused populations of penguins to move between protected Argentine land and unprotected private land. Her research is one of many examples of how climate change - warmer land and ocean temperatures new weather patterns, and changing ecosystems - are causing unexpected shifts in the location, life cycles, and populations of species.
