I agree, there are too many McDojos out there. If you're from a good school, though, your belt should show how good you are. Otherwise, it could be misleading.

  • @Ozarka741 yeah i know that but the fact that there are so many black belts out there shows that there's something wrong with this system because many black belts get their butt kicked by their juniors. its the reason why i said that belts really mean nothing if you cant stand up to your ranking. you know what i mean?

  • @KidsKicksforChrist

I see, that is a good way to think.

  • It's all good, it all works if the person takes the time and effort. Good job Bow

  • @Ozarka741 I don't frown upon it, I my many years I still look for the tradition, tech and style, all three can be portrayed in any sparring, I just didn't see it here, a few kicks and one two combinations..Where is all the tech taught on top of punches and kicks. I judged for many years and it got to where people gave points or a score for something that would never work. In other words it got real political if you know what I mean. Everyone that would limit one art to prove another.

  • @ShuyuKoukin

However, the belt represents your skill level. If someone is too good to be a yellow belt, they'll be a higher rank.

  • @KidsKicksforChrist

You can't really say that there was no Taekwondo there; he was a yellow belt. I can't really speak for Kenpo because I've never studied it. You really shouldn't frown upon sparring though; there's nothing wrong with it and I think that it its a good thing. I know that no one who has ever studied a martial art for 45 years didn't spar until they were 45 years in.
