All About Lap Band Maintenence - Part 4 - Gets Cut Off at the end - thank god! I would have just kept rambling forever!

Basically I just ramble about all my feelings from pre-op to maintenence and where my head is at now. Coming to to terms with my weight and body the way it is NOW and not how it will be. Praising myself for my progress, and keeping my own ideas of body image and obesity in check.

  • Enjoyed the videos as usual... love the honesty. I anticipate feeling a lot of what you've discussed. Even two weeks out, I have already gone through an emotional roller coaster of sorts. Worried about you and the drinking, though. I'm sure you know all about transfer addictions. Not lecturing... just worried. It is possible that school will get your mind off of things. I can't imagine going through a break up and not having the usual comfort vehicle. That has to be tough.

  • Yeah the break up kinda sent me over the edge, but I'm on my way back! I think I'll be OK with the drinking as soon as I have my academic distraction! I'm still going to therapy once a week though and that helps A LOT. Don't know what i'd do without it. Thanks!

  • Will you marry me!!! LoL You look Great!! love the dress =) you have done a great job and the best of luck with it!

  • Hehe, I don't think I'm ready for another engagement any time soon! Thanks for the offer though! <3 A

  • hey you look great. I know exactly how you feel about the thing when you sit down and your stomach feels stuck in your clothes. I'm planning on getting the lap band. I can't do anything until I get my new health insurance in October. I have a question for you. Where you considered overweight for 5 years? I mean most of the time they require to be a BMI of 40 for at least 5 years. I'm worried about that because My BMI is only been 40 for 3 years. Let me know!

  • If you're attempting to get insurance to cover your surgery then yes you'll have to meet all of their requirements of being overweight for a certain amount of time, blah blah. I was a self pay so I could avoid all these requirements. Like I said in the video, I am spoiled and very lucky! Good luck! <3 A

  • how were you able to afford it? I'm 247 5'8" and I've tried them all...can I afford it?

  • I am so happy that you created these vlogs AND want to turn them into a book. I thought about that at beginning of my journey, but didn't think I had it in me to follow through on... but YOU do! So make sure you do it girl!

  • hey ashley,i just wanna point out something completely off-topic... but in the upper left corner in that shiny black thing there are a lot of faces.. one actually kinda looks like a clown.. and one looks like an entire person.

    creeeepy:)

i go in for my 1st consult on oct 6.

  • Ashley I am so sorry that you and jon broke up.

Yall were great together. You are a good person

you were nice enough to be candid and blunt with

us here on youtube and let us know that even with

surgery everyone can still have problems. plus you

gave us an insight of what to look forward to before

and after surgery. So hang in there - this too shall

    pass - Hugs & Love, Melissa :)

  • I seriously love your videos! Everything that you say is just so honest and exactly how I feel inside. You truly get it. In other words you really get me. That is such a comforting feeling and yes definitely write your book. Honestly, your videos hasn't made me decide to get the band but it has definitely made me excited about getting the band! My first appointment is Oct. 9th. I seriously hope I can get this show on the road and not wait too much longer for the actual surgery. I'm antsy.

  • I haven't had my surgery yet, however, I have learned to stop punishing myself through this self help seminar. It's called PSI, I dont know if they have it in Seattle. But something similar would really benefit you! Let me know if you're interested. My therapist is really happy I went cause the year of therapy I have had with her, this seminar is seriously 10 years put into 4 days :)

  • hey... Love seeing new vids. You look great. I can totally understand where u are coming from saying that u used to feel like u hated "skinnies", but now u feel a little cocky... I can totally see how that could happen. Don't worry though, u are a grounded girl at heart and I'm sure you will be fine, once you figure it all out. Forget the ex... He played a role, but now its time for you to blossom :-) good luck, and thanks for writing me back. It meant the world 2 me. Layterz.

  • Thank you. For responding and for posting these so truthfully. Everything you say, I have thought about and wondered if I would go through. "Everything will be great when I'm yada yada Ilbs." Then I worry I'll get there and still be searching or never be quiet happy. You really do help. You're awesome lol. Thank you again!
