National Nurses United U.S. Chamber of Commerce Protest:
As corporate healthcare seeks to defund and privatize Medicare, there is an RN movement 175,000- strong (and growing) to fight for our patients - and ourselves. Hundreds of nurses descended upon the U.S. Chamber of Commerce in Washington, D.C. on June 7, 2011 as part of the National Nurses United Main Street Contract. The best part was executive director Rose Ann DeMoro in the middle of the street surrounded by police, leading the nurses in a chant of "Our street -- Wall Street!"
Thank G*d for Florence Nightingale's activism so that we have a shining example to live up to!!!!
