LG Motorsports Video - Lou Gigliotti takes the EMCO transmission out of his ALMS GT2 Race Car, and installs it into his C6 Z06! The sequential transmission shifts faster than any other, and has been proven on the race track in multiple vehicles in many series. This $25,000 transmission has never before been in a daily driven vehicle! Watch at the car shifts up to the top of 5th gear, on the STREET!

  • So, clutchless upshifts, clutch on downshifts? Couldn't really tell for the most of the video since it's pretty shakey, but I saw him use the clutch on downshifts once or twice.

  • @Kevin8660 Clutchless in both directions, just a blip of the throttle on the down shifts.

Only need the clutch when the car slows down enough to stop. The reverse handle "rattle" was from a last minute temporary lever install. THanks LG

  • Is the bicycle handbrake looking thing some sort of reverse lockout?

  • @LonewolfG36C Hi, Yes, that is what it is. We have a newer and quiet reverse lock out now. That was a make shift lock out just so we could run the car. WE use a similar lever on the race car where the rattle doesn't matter

    Thanks LG

  • what can this tranny do that an auto c6 with paddles cant?... looks like the same general idea to me...

theres no clutch or letting off the gas with an auto... and u control the gear changes by paddle

  • @k20b18h22 it can handle 1000 hp and because it is lighter internally and no torque converter losses, it puts about 8% more power to the ground. and it will take the abuse of a road course with no issues. BUT it you are only getting groceries, then the paddle shifter will work :)

  • How is the EMCO different from the Quaife? They seem to carry the same ratings and be usable in the same cars but the Quaife is $12000!

  • that's a bad mothherfucker.. needless to say

  • Badass vette. Badass trans. But I can't believe you posted a video of the shifter rattling like that! GARBAGE. is there a rubber band shortage in your area?? I would be pretty upset if i spent $24K on a transmission and it used a brake lever off a '92 huffy

    jusayin

  • Preferable... as Jeremy Clarkson would say, I'm not too fond of the flappy paddle shifters myself...

so... 60-70k for a vette, 24k for tranny, and 50k for an engine "makeover" at NRE... sucking the paint off a bugatti (and most likely ending up parked in a tree), priceless

  • so you pull the handle to put it in reverse

  • i prefer it with a clutch it's more enjoying !

  • @k20b18h22 OWNED!

  • @NEWanjingkepala3 Use detent lever and push or pull stick depending on box.

  • @noshabibis fail troll ;)
