Jack Nicholson was the face of the Joker in the Batman film franchise. 19 years later, a challenger appears, Heath Ledger. 2 very different Jokers, I like them both. This shows how Jack did this, and how Heath did that; and what would happen if they got a little physical with each other. =p

I edited this out of pure fun and entertainment. Like the other guy said, this is a NON-PROFIT video. Property of Warner Brothers. Footage of Batman and The Dark Knight. Music by Hans Zimmer & James Newton Howard.

  • i think they're both great. Heath's Joker had a philosophy and thought he was being righteous in a way. Nicholson's Joker was a straight up bad guy who knew he was wrong, but loved it.

  • great fuckin video man it was very convincing that these two were going at it in this video. my choice................................JACK my generation.

  • @Momentum139 And I thought that the whole "anarchist" aspect of Ledger's Joker was borrowed from his TKJ counterpart: Where he tried to prove that anyone can turn insane given the right circumstances.. And earlier you said Ledger's Joker had no real explanation, well lets just say that the dark comedic Joker from the comics on which Ledger based his Joker on, was rather a very complex character that could not be explained through one movie/comic/graphic novel..

  • @Momentum139 And about being comedic and dark, I dont think Nicholson was dark at all, he was more comedic than dark.. I would say Ledger was both comedic and dark.. Yes I know Joker is psychotic and comedic.. But the Joker is comedic in a twisted way, not in a comical way like how Nicholson showed him to be..

  • @Momentum139 There is no convincing that Nicholson is superior.. Ledger's version has more fans from the general and comics alike, his portrayal was more closer to Mark Hamill (I agree he was the best).. I think the Ledger Joker's giddy ways in killing people were present, and they were more darker and graphic than Nicholson's goofy kills.. Ledger's Joker was similar to the TKJ Joker, in that they both wanted to prove that anybody can become insane.. I think you get what I'm saying

  • @Momentum139 Joker laugh comparison - Ledger, Nicholson and Hamill

  • But really, I like this trailer. A, bringing Ledger/Nicholson fanatics down a peg, B, an honest battle between them, just imagine what Gotham would look like in the end. and C, just funny overall. But I remember there was this real good trailer with all three Jokers: the BEST Joker (Mark Hamill), Ledger, and Nicholson that I just can't seem to find anymore. I wish I could find the bloody thing, if anyone's seen it, give me a ring.

  • @Mordor6121512 even if I do convince you that Ledger is inferior to Nicholson, which obviously isn't going to happen as our views are subjective nonetheless, this argument is just going to reset because these comments can't stay in the position that the new commentors are going to look. Not everyone is as determined to win a debate on the internet as us, so there'll be two new people soon enough. I had an argument like this with somebody on Youtube when the movie FIRST came out. (XD)

  • But where I was going with that was that the Joker isn't solely this psychotic Lecter-like killer I'm assuming you think is dominant. His gags and the giddy way he kills people are key, those are what make the character significant, they are his trademarks. Ask anyone you know who is not obsessed with the Nolan series of films and ask them what they think the Joker is. They're not going to say: anarchist with a Glasgow smile who murders several black people, I'll tell you.

  • @Mordor6121512 I don't know where you're getting this perception that Joker's foundation is a psychotic clown. The proof is in the name itself. One comic is not basis for what a character is, by all means, then that means because TDK fanboys and Ledger fangirls think Nolan is god and TDK is essentially "this generation's Batman bible", that all Batman stories should focus on a Christian Bale-like Batman. Like Christian Bale is the best, which is wrong because Kevin Conroy is still alive. :p

  • @Mordor6121512 I would give my vote to him for shooting down the Batplane with a big f*cking revolver that came straight from his pants. That tops Ledger plotting a breakout (that only he survives), or trying to get people to kill each other, or corrupting Harvey Dent (we all knew he was going there anyway). I mean really... you just don't plan for that. How do you stuff an elephant gun-like revolver into your pants and then fire it like nobody's buisness. Hamill > Nicholson > Ledger.

  • @Mordor6121512 the Nicholson Joker is easily more approved because he is comedic and dark, and exaggerating him as a goofy clown is just another way of taking Nicholson fans down a peg. Could just as easily call Ledger a Lecter knock-off... and yes, I did that already... the psychotic Joker in no way dominates. Frankly, this is a contest, not a reception contest. It's about who's smarter/more versatile. Nicholson shot down the Batplane and was ready to kill a whole city...
