I've been working on bidding to re-build the Seaview Church and never knew much about it's history. On a recent site visit I talked with Eddie, read the Wiki article, and have been researching as much as I can regarding the sad story of Africville and it's residents.
All I can say, being a 30 year old white guy from Halifax, is that what happened was unacceptable then, it is unacceptable now, and I hope the church can stand as a testament to the heart & courage of Africville's ancestors.
