Domaine de Grand Pré

In the heart of the Annapolis Valley, located along Nova Scotia's Bay of Fundy, you will find some of the best soils and climatic conditions in eastern Canada. Hanspeter Stutz, the owner of this world renowned "vignoble", is a big man with a big personality and big knowledge of grapes, wine and ciders. With a welcoming smile he proudly leads you around his
vineyard exposing his great knowledge of everything grape! An immigrant from Switzerland, he and his family have shared a touch of Europe with Nova Scotia. He has been an integral part of helping the
province of Nova Scotia establish a reputation for producing great wines.

Although Nova Scotia has one of the cooler climate limits for vines, it could be argued that it was one of the first areas to cultivate grapes in North America. It has a tradition for growing grapes for wine that dates back to the early 17th century!
