(I am Historian, have master's degree on Russian history)
Comrade Stalin killed lot of traitors in Communist Party.
Bad people joined the party because they wanted to make career.
They searched "enemies of nation" and killed them - to earn reputation!
Example: Khrushchev killed thousands of innocent Ukraine people,
and wanted kill more, but Stalin send him letter with words "Stop that, idiot!"
After the death of Stalin, Khrushchev came to power and blamed Stalin for all crimes

My family lost 2 people in Siberia, 4 were in Gulags, They were Polish . Stalin and Lenin as well communist system were not Russian. Those songs are very Russian and we love them
