  • I have a similar whirlpool, but mine has four wires. Two wires to heating element and two going to the thermostat. Is this correct or has it been modified? Do I still need a wire going from thermostat to heating element? The thermo fuse has been bypassed by previous owner and I'm trying to fix that. I feel something is not correct. Thanks for the video and any help you can give me!

  • This video was very helpful - I have a Kenmore Model 70 that matches this whirlpool model exactly. Replacement went easy and my dryer is working again! Praise the Lord! Thank you!

  • When changing the top component I have to reconnect the two red wires because the previous owner had them shorted together (with lots of wire exposed). Can I just crimp those wires with a square insulated female disconnect (i.e. like the rest of the wires have later in the video) and connect them to the thermostat, or should I get plastic connectors like you show in the video?

  • Thanks so much for responding fast ,as I was taking the dryer apart and noticed that the lint duct was clogged ,so I cleaned it out and it now works perfectly, love your videos they realy help out :)

  • I have the Sam dryer ,but mine stopped putting heat out everything else works tho any idea ?thanks !!
