Dr. Carrol, I have a weird question. I say weird because I am not quite sure I understand it myself. Suffice it to say as that may be the case as far as my understanding goes. The question I have in mind just won't go away it keeps gnawing at me... Which is, why does philosophical naturalism have it out for Plato's Theory of Forms? Why is this such a big deal? I don't understand. For example there was handout in my Logic class from Prof. Ownby and on it, it seemed to addresse this idea

Plato argues for essentialism, that everything, including human beings have a particular essence. Evolution of species repudiates essentialism, which would require species to be eternally fixed.

I gotta show my girlfriend this!!LOL!! She took two of your classes Logic and Paranormal. Speaking of which are you completely retired are you really gone for good??? PLEASE PLEASE Come back this fall and teach your Paranormal and the Occult class PLEASE!! I have always wanted to take that class!! Please come back Prof. Carroll!!!

Yes, I am "completely" retired and won't be back to teach my critical thinking about the paranormal class. I loved that class and hope SCC will find somebody to teach it in my absence.
