@trollsarevirgins Shouldn't the means and the end depend on the rapist tho. In some cases, I bet the "power" is a means and in others it may be the "end". What I'm saying is, feminist idealogy aside, the psychoology of the criminal won't be the same for every rape. Think of rape like any other violent crime. I believe profilers speak of several types of rapists : "power rapists", "gentleman rapists", etc, etc. In some cases, means and ends may be the same thing. Sexualy frustrated ppl exist.

@gejost Oh, I'm not saying desire for sex is not A factor, just that it isn't the ONLY factor. We all "need" sexual gratification, just as we all get thirsty. Only a few would rape, or punch small children for their kool-aid. But I am not discounting the sexual aspect, just saying that it's not the only factor is all.

@trollsarevirgins I've heard this claim. I wonder if its always true; i.e., if people never rape in need of sexual gratification. Its a question of criminal psychology. For the victim, I'm sure rape is always about power but criminals are motivated by deifferent things.People kill for multiple reasons: power, money, jealousy, etc. Why should rape be different.
