@rockandroll626 The Fire Department IS the Paramedics, they are cross-trained.

@brendan129 ok so if the paramedics cant get on the scene quick enough the fire dept send out a ambulance to give them ems support until the paramedics come?

@rockandroll626 Because in the U.S., most Fire Departments have taken on the responsibility of providing Emergency Medical Services in addition to Fire Suppression and Rescue.
