This is the theme of Alexander and Pericles in Civilization IV. It's a great song, and was the Civilization III Greco-Roman diplomacy theme. (Thanks ElleMao!)

I have included the first and the third versions of this music from Civilization IV in this video. However, I have excluded the second version, since it sounded like crap and didn't really fit in with the others.

Enjoy!

  • I KNEW there's going to be some Greek vs Macedonian dick measuring contest in the comment sectoin whenever I watch / listen to this video. -_-

  • @Alexandros1294 Debateable. The ancient Macedonians were heavily Hellenised, but had several cultural elements that distinguished them from the rest of the Classical Greeks, who considered them barbarians (along with anyone who was not in the area of Greece south of Thermopylae).

But I agree that Fyrom's people are not Macedonian. I think they are suffering from a lack of national identity to legitimise their claim as a sovereign country.

  • Hes such a warmonger! He and Stalin are working together! Such a pain, I call in Bismark and Victoria in against him. Bismark makes him a vassal, but before I knew i declared war on him again. I felt like a fail, so I quit. Bismark hates me now. :(

  • Can you upload the song you hear if you play has Greece, in around 80 AD?

  • @goodolarchie Only Pericles does that, not Alex.

  • @CareBearClaire87 Hey, he's better than Monty.

  • @frostyguy1989 Exactly. They were a very Homeric people, kind of like the Epirotes.

  • Hahah, every time I hear this music I picture Alex or Pericles doing the stupid hand motions then raising the helmet 0.o

  • @Alexandros1294 just because i don't know a few weird fellows? that's one hell of a conclusion.

So, well, neither side will be convinced, while i believe your nationality is dependant upon your place of birth, you base nationality entirely on culture and philosophies. Neither of us will move since neither of us will admit being wrong, just as both claim to be right, so i don't care whether this goes on or not.

I don't ''give up'' i just find it futile to use logic on you.

  • @Ascensiam Some of them are. A few are from Oxford, and one of them actually used to be a supporter of Fyrom. These historians along with many others, are basically the experts on the ancient world today. Some more historians who know a lot more about Macedonia would be Nicholas Hammond (who is now dead) but was the lead expert on Macedonia, Manolis Andronicus, and Peter Green. If you haven't heard of them or read their books, then you obviously know nothing of the time period.
