In this day and age people have a hard on for defending "cultural cuisine" and differences between what is considered food around the world. While true to an extent, I am by no means a fussy eater and lived in Tokyo for 3 years, I am just gonna come out and say it...
this shit is fucking nasty. fact.
Still not as bad as that dish balut from the philippines though, fertilized duck eggs..google image search for balut and tell me otherwise.

@maybe2243 iunno why ppl make such a big deal of it, theres a french exhibition like restaurant where ppl are paying 170 usd each just to have a bite of it batter fried. The only real difference is a white man selling it. Just proves if a white guy sells you something weird you'd eat it.

for all of you that don't know a lot about tarantula's this is probably a haplopelma species and its ass or abdomen is mostly other bugs that the spider has consumed. And I cambodia is a very poor country and they dont have much food so they do what they can to survive. We here in north america would not eat that they are gross compared to the good food we have here. And i promise you that the bbq chicken here taste way better.

Enough respect to you for trying that spider. Many people from the west would just say no. The strange thing is that we all eat prawns and lobster which are related to the spider. It all comes down to what we are conditioned to eat by our respective cultures.
