you dont get to use 6 gigs only 3.

core clock is practically irrelevant when comparing amd to nvidia.

gtx590 isnt dual core it is dual gpu! each with 512 "cores".

both solutions include 2 gpu's and 2 sets of ram so all your x1 and x2 = shit is wrong.

btw the higher end you go the more you pay for each % of increased performance, you can double your fps going from $40 card to $60 card but once you get above 500$ and go dual gpu or sli or crossfire everything is up for grabs..

Not a good comparison to the GTX 590

GTX 590 Specs:

Memory size 3GB x1

Core Clock 630 Mhz x1

HD 7970 Specs:

Memory size 3GB x2 = 6GB

Core Clock 925 Mhz x2 = 1850 Mhz

Truly, the review is not fair even though the GTX 590 is dual core. Take into factor the price difference though, 2 7970s is almost $1200, 1 GTX 590 is $750. They were pretty close even with the huge advantage of the 7970s because there was 2.

@Kalebthedevil Sorry, but you couldn't be more wrong. The memory clock and memory size are not doubled. The GTX 590 is a dual-GPU card, meaning each has it's own clock and core speeds. The 7970 is AMD's best GPUs on two cards, the 590 is NVidia's best GPU on one card, and time has shown that one card is typically better. But, the new 28nm manufacturing process is what sets them apart.

I have all that except the HDD. I'm probably going to recycle the 500gb pata I have if I can find a good converter. I'd get a new drive, but because of the damn Thailand flood, that would be foolish.
