You can either square the mortise or round the corners of the tenon. I've tried both methods. It seems easier to round the edges of the tenon. You can use a chisel or a wood rasp to do this quickly and easily. I like to take a small slice of each corner with a chisel.

Also, a Nicholson 4-in-1 Wood Rasp works well.

but the router cutter is round in shape so u need to show how u form the square edge dont you?.
