Some times when I read Hitchens or watch one of his debates I find that my blood pressure elevates slightly. On those occasions I make sure to finish off the day with the soothing words of Dan Dennett and a decent merlot.
I miss Hitch.

I would rather lose my soul in an attempt to save others from our religious wars than to gain eternal life in a Heaven by converting, fighting, or killing others, physically or mentally, who don't believe in a certain god.

I found out and was still shocked even though I knew he had cancer but I saw him in some vid talking at some thing he got an award at and then how long... 2 months later... dead. But he lived an amazing life and I think history will not soon forget him.

Lit students will be studying this great man's style of writing, wit, debate and severe pwnage in the future. This giant intellect will be quoted and emulated for a long time. He made an impact on the world and a massive positive one at that.
