January 20th 2012. Etta James, whose assertive, earthy voice lit up such hits as "The Wallflower," "Something's Got a Hold on Me" and the wedding favorite "At Last," died today.

She died from complications from leukemia with her husband, Artis Mills, and her sons by her side. Etta James was 73. May her soul rest in Peace.

I know that she maybe felt that it would be one of the last times doing this song.. But she shoulden't have done it for my sake... She sounded lovely before she got old... But messed her song up after, she got old...

    well, it depends on a few things-like people are human. Live shows are not soundbites. People that are ill still want to feel the melody and her fans can give back by listening the way Etta gave to us for so many years. This is not MTV.

  • etta you brought so much to so many people and your voice made so many happy and when i met you it was a very sweet and genuine person that i was talking to and with such a deep and loving soul and was so much the type to give time to others . you sat with me and we chatted for two hours after hours and you did not even care how long we chatted for and when we were done you gave me a huge hug and kiss and said thank you and i will never forget that rest in peace etta
