Ranger C6 Z06 10.71 Bone-Stock except DR (Drag Radials)

This pass of 10.71 130.32 1.60 is the current record for a C6 Z06 that is bone-stock except for drag radial rear tires. It was run at Maryland International Raceway in Budds Creek, Maryland on December 11, 2011. Only change to the car is the rear tires. All else is as it left the factory, down to the original air cleaner.

Car is a 2006 model with 27K miles.

Race weight including driver and 7-gallons of fuel was 3250.

Car makes 455rwhp on a SuperFlo dyno; about the same as any C6 Z06.

I Think If He Put More Width On His Tire Like Maybe A 345 Or 355 He Would Been Slightly Faster He Would Get A Better 60Ft Time

In tires for the drag strip, you want to run the smallest tire that gives proper traction. That will depend on the compound of the tread more than just tread width. The rear tires on this 10.71 pass were 275.40.17, which are fine for a Z06 at stock power and stock clutch. Any more width or height would be sub-optimal.

Awesome driving. Curious what was the temp outside that day? Have you ever ran in the summer to see how much slower the car would be? Also is the 17inch wheel you are using from the front of a C5 Z06 the stock width? As I know the rears on a C5 Z06 would be 18s and fronts 17s.

The air temp at the time of this 10.71 pass was 45 degrees F.

The rear wheels were OEM Corvette C5-Z06 fronts, 17" x 9.5". They fit fine with the stock C6-Z06 rear brakes. The wheels are widely available and not expensive.

@talontsi97 Video was shot with a Sony FX7; sound was record with a shotgun mic processed thru a Sound Devices field mixer. Editing was done in Final Cut Pro.
