The point being: black Americans needed to have some kind of emotional outlet after witnessing scores of not guilty verdicts for white people accused of murdering black people in the United States. It had nothing to do with the victims. It was about equality. I'd expect white people to do the same if they experienced 100 years of failed justice.
There's something about this case that many people fail to recognize: in the United States, a person is INNOCENT until proven guilty. I'm not saying that O.J. is innocent for real---God only knows if he is---but what happened in that courtroom was a failure to provide compelling evidence that he was guilty. The jury can ONLY use the information given to them. If the prosecuting attorneys fail to convince the jury with their evidence, you have to let the suspect free. That's the law.
