@ximenezb ....i think that beginner should try to swim as phelps....and keep on trying till he succeeds....there is no such thing as "beginners technic" as far as i know...but i am just an amateur....

And it's definitely called front crawl. In fact the only reason it is sometimes referred to as "freestyle" is because the swimming competition "freestyle" involves using any stroke you like for the fastest possible time. And most swimmers choose front crawl because it's faster.
