sucks that this game was never released here in the uk :( I so want to play it....is the ps3 multi region? was thinking if i got this from america and tried it on the ps3 will it play?.... :(

@MizfitZer0 I'm pretty sure the PS3 itself is not region free, just PS3 games (which is a choice on the developer's behalf, so there's no comprehensive list). PS2 and PS1 games still have region coding and will only work on a console from the same region (unless modded or otherwise of course).

@Vysethedetermined2 darn, guess im guna have to hunt on ebay or some other place for a region free ps1 then lol.

@MizfitZer0 Well, if you really want to play this so bad, you could go the route of emulation. Most PS1 games are emulated very well or almost flawlessly these days in emulators like "epsxe" (I haven't tried this game in particular, but can't see why it wouldn't work). Unless you're really serious, hunting down this game and a console seems impractical.

Any relation to the 1979 live-action TV show Monkey Magic based on Journey to the West?
Guernicaman 1 year ago
Well, most tales about the Journey to the West are only loosely based to the tale, but many shows and franchises adopt small pieces of it. Saiyuki (the anime and the Koei-published Playstation game), the live-action MM, the animated cartoon MM (which this game is based off of), Dragonball/Z, and many others are all very different, but take small pieces of the tale to heart.
The short answer is technically yes, though it's not based on the live-action show, just the JttW tale in general.
