Nigel Konstam examines two paintings, until recently both accepted as Rembrandts, of the Adoration of the Shepherds - One held at the National Gallery in London and the other in Munich. With the use of maquettes (models) of the scene he demonstrates that the London version is a mirror image of the Munich version. Thus he is able to demonstrate that both are genuine Rembrandts.
marvellous - I think it has needed an artist comfortable with working in 3 dimensions to recognise this.
