Even in a city like El Monte there are differences in money. Come on, all you go to do is go from Mountain View HS and then go to EL Monte HS. BIG DIFFERENCE! and yet, i remember back in 05-06 Season, we had just started to do field shows. I played Vibes, and MAN let me tell you, not just the pit's, but all of our instruments were literally FALLING APART! Even when the announcer said who we were and where we were from, the people on the stands just looked at each other not knowing...

dude just seriously stfu. try going to mvhs. watch your trash talking ass get beat. and there not "excuses". excuses are lies. this is real shit that's happening because of all the budget cuts, tax raises and thing u wont have to worry about because your mommy will buy your shit. try living in this area. with the real people who are suffering. try working hard on music ALONE w/o an instructor. see how far u get in competitions.

like i said, we don't have the resources. the band is broke. our demographics are different; the students can't afford to scrape up even the 150 dollars we charge for band fee. you guys charge 300-400, and everyone pays. compared to $30000 average budgets for other programs, we're lucky to have a $10000 budget. you haven't marched with us; you don't know what it's like.

only because of size. and money. honestly, we've played on beat-up instruments all my four years. we don't have new bright horns, or lots of pit equipment. as a matter of fact, we have a marimba that falls apart every show. what i say is that if MV had the right resources, they would be better. however, the 09 season has a drop in talent level, i must admit.
