For the first time on television, God in America, a presentation of AMERICAN EXPERIENCE and FRONTLINE, will explore the historical role of religion in the public life of the United States. The six-hour series, which interweaves documentary footage, historical dramatization and interviews with religious historians, will air over three consecutive nights on PBS beginning October 11, at 9pm ET (Check local listings).

What many people do not realize is , as the human race, we are reaching an impass in our evolutionary development where religion is becoming an inconvenience and irrelevant to our society. Eventually we will be forced let go of trivial beliefs that are not meant to be taken so litterally, but out of fear of the unkown humans still seek religion for security. Its understandable, and when the time comes they will 'just know'. It's a proscess of enlightenment for us all.
