A tribute to star Mamie Van Doren. She was discovered by Howard Hughs after winning Miss Palm Springs in 1948. She signed with Universal Studios at age 18, they wanted to make her their answer to Fox Studio's Marilyn Monroe. Though Mamie never achieved the level of sucess or stardom that Marilyn had. She, Marilyn and Jayne Mansfield were known as "The Three M's". Many of her fims have her portraying "the bad girl" and have become cult classics. She also starred in some of the first films to feature rock and roll music. Mamie is also named in the burlesque hall of fame.

  • Hi! Thanks for your comments about videos I've shared with you. I look this video with a new look because I've seen recently the movie "The girl can't help it" with Jane Mansfield. I propose you to make a video of this actress or this actress in this film. What do you think about it?

  • Though I never liked those actresses who tried to resemble Marilyn, in many photos Mamie really looks very glamorous! Thank you for this lovely tribute, Rachel!

  • Thank you! Beautiful tribute with good song and pictures too. She seems very glamourous, an other kind of blond. She make me more thinking of Brigitte Bardot than Marilyn Monroe, in fact. Thank you sharing me it.

  • Wonderful tribute to a gorgeous lady! Great pictures! And you always choose such nice music. :)
