So Joe actually had a little trouble with this freewheel, but we found a solution that worked even better than the freewheel tool: using the edge of a pedal wrench, or anything that is a straight, hard piece of metal that fits in to the grooves of a freewheel, enjoy.

  • Loved this video! It gave me back the confidence the Stuck Freewheel had taken from me! I leaned that bastard against a wall & wedged it against a book case so it wouldn't roll away. Then stood on the wrench with foot(while holding on to the door frame so I wouldn't fall)... putting all my weight on it *160 lbs* that bastard finally came off! Thanks for the help!!!!!

  • Hhaha, thanks arni. Since i used that method I've been notified of another solution where you use a skewer to fasten the freewheel tool onto the freewheel then use a big ass wrench to crank on it while the skewer holds the tool in place. BUT, glad you got it off!!

  • do you allways break a spoke when you take off the freewheel

  • Like i said, that was totally broken before doing this idiotic thing

  • ...and now the wheel is warped

  • Depends on your perspective, if you look at it cockeyed it looks fine.

  • Rubbish video - not professional - pros use work gloves, proper equipment, and correct method. This was total amateur and probably buckled the rim. Idiot. Don't make any more videos until you're qualified to do so.

  • @arni0202 lol I just had to do the same with 2 freewheels that hadn't been greased. I weigh ~70kg and I had to jump on the key to loosen it (standing wasn't enough). :P

  • Don't use adjustable spanner, noob.

  • your vides, whole channel is so helpfull ! (unlike many others) and the subtitles are just hilarious:D

  • much easier to use a piece of bike chain, put around the sprocket and into the vice

  • At 20seconds. What did u pop on there? I want one!

Cant believe the bike shop didnt have one even in the workshop. My stupid freewheel rattles down the road when shit gets ruff... Its gotta go.

  • @leoseries Hey, Get a huge, 15" or 18" Crescent wrench. IT did the job for me big time. So easy. I was using a

10" Crescent wrench and it didn't budge at all. But, the Bigger Wrench did the job almost instantly. I had to use some muscle, but it took like 5 to 10 seconds and it loosened up no problem.

  • I just replaced my 18 tooth Dicta free wheel with a 19 tooth ACS Claws free wheel.

Now the 18 tooth Dicta was only 2 months old, but, it was really free and loose when I took it off. And the Brand New ACS CLAWS is a bit tight and doesn't spin as free. Will it loosen up after a few weeks. IT's not bad, but noticeable...

    Thanks!

  • Spray WD-40 or Rust-Breaker behind the freewheel, so it runs down the FW threads. Wait a while, and it will come off a lot more easily!
