On March 2010, Students Celebrated Cesar Chavez's Birthday & United in a Moment of action :
(this was our flier)
MARCH 31st 2010 A MOMENT OF UNITY!
Today on behalf of Human Relations, I invite you to please join us at lunch time in celebrating Cesar Chavezs Birthday. We will have activities going on the senior stage explaining who he was and what he did, and before the bell rings we will have a moment of action, where we will be asking the whole school to participate; this means you!
What we will do is called The Power or Unity Clap;
The Power/Unity Clap represents the movement and struggle of farm workers in the 50s & 60s, The clap starts slow and then builds momentum, getting faster and stronger like a movement for justice, showing the power of unity with a loud cheer in the end. We want that Unity here, so please join us, if you have any questions feel free to ask. THANK YOU :)
