Learn a great technique that allows you to create gathers without creating rows of stitching. A great little tutorial that will enhance any sewing project.

  • This is JUST what I was looking for! Thanks so much!

  • @YESHASettler Glad to be of some help. Thanks for taking the time to comment.

  • is there a way to cover that elastic so it isnt itchy and washes well? id be worried the open seams could fray over time.?

  • @verycraftymama You certainly could. Simply stitch a strip of fabric covering the width of the seam and length of area you wish to cover. As we are using an open seam, the stitches will not be visible from the right side. Stitch the seam allowance only. Hope that helps.

  • again, another great very helpful tutorial. Could you possibly due a tutorial on gathered elastic hem, that finishes off something like a blouson top for summer? Thank you very much!

  • @carmelfrap098 Thanks so much for getting in touch. I've written your request in my 'to do' book and will certainly demonstrate the technique you ask for as soon as I can.
