@MrWellminded many a things..start with idle valve...near the air filter...screwdriver required...then try plugs and leads...dizzy cap...rotary arm

@disnam The trannys are engineered that way to make for a smooth and tight shift, but with mileage that transition gets a little rough.

@MrWellminded you might try a tune up it sounds like a missfire might also try a fuel system cleaner to clean the injectors

How is the car holding up?
Try to get a respray (incl. the doorhandles and maybe the wiper mechanism) and you have a pretty much perfect 190E 2.6 in my opinion. :)

@Eivinde89 right now the car needs a head gasket and some sheet metal work on the back due to an accident last year but hopefully she'll be back on the road by next summer

Mine sometimes shifts from 1st to 2nd gear roughly. Anyone know what's wrong with it? I have the auto.

@mrpissedoffdude they came that way from the factory everyone i know that has an auto says it does the same thing i dont know why but they all do it
