I read a lot on Peiper. This guy is smarter than everyone in this courtroom. A loyal soldier and strong individual. I am an American and find it odd that the Americans decided to play judge and jury on the world over and over again. What a joke.

Peiper is a great combat leader. I think he gets a raw deal in these proceedings. His unit had been replaced and refitted prior to Ardennes operation with young, rabid, and impulsive soldiers many of which had been exposed to victims of Allied "terror" bombing of German city of Dresden prior to deployment with Peiper's unit. This in addition to fact that he isn't even at Malmedy when massacre occurs should have been strong mitigating factors.
