I wish people took the recorder more seriously and not write it off as a child's instument.

I've been playing the alto recorder for many years, unfortunately I stopped some years ago and lost my notes. :/ It's such a beautiful instrument! :D

Thank you. There I am playing a Dolmetch copy of a Bressan alto, A440. It is made from ebony wood. I bought it used many years ago in Prague and had it revoiced by Stephan Blezinger. The acoustics in the atrium really help the sound come alive.

I love this piece of music very much and the way you play it.
I have been searching for the scores for over a year now, but in vain. I would so appreciate if you could tell me what piece of music this gavotte is part of. I´m playing the recorder since 3 years.

Thanks! Boismortier has so many beautiful pieces. Unfortunately, at the moment I am on vacation and away from my music. I'll reply with more info after Jan. 4.

This gavotte is from the "Premiere Suite en Mi Mineur" Opus 35 (1731) originally written for baroque flute and played here transcribed up a minor 3rd to g minor for alto recorder. Schott publishes this opus 35 (six suites) for alto recorder. The way I was trying to play it was inspired by a fantastic recording of it by baroque flautist, Stephan Perreau entitled "Variations en Mineur" on the label "Disques PIERRE VERANY". Good luck!

this is the most nice piece of music i ever heard in youtube. I bought an alto recorder at yamaha store for about 5 years ago but still its really hard to play. I wish can also do the same playing this piece of great music.

Thank you very much. Be sure to look and listen to some of the hundreds of other recorder videos
archived in the playlists on my channel. There are many other players who are much much better than me. Maybe you can find a music teacher in your town who can help you. Good luck!
