My first attempt at this was not very good. I also was a little confused to your foundation chain. I added an extra 3 chains before I made my first star, it seemed to work well. The thing I find most confusing is trying to figure out exactly into what loops you are pushing your yarn through on the previous stitch, but I think I may have it figured out. Thank you for posting this, I am using it to make a christmas present for someone and the stitch itself is beautiful. :)

You can get them at any craft store. Michaels, MJDesigns, Walmart, online you can get them at any crochet store online or at a shop. The ones that I use are made by Bolye. Good Luch

I am having a problem with the multiple of 2 plus three as well...I am a beginner and I want to make a throw for my daughter with this stitch and if your chain is 24 then I too am confused.....I know nothing about reworking a pattern or fixing stitches, if my chain is to long will it still work? If I get to the end and it does not work out like you are instructing, what do I do...I know things are not perfect, but I would like to get it to look like your 6 inch square...Heeeeelp me please.....

@rwilpop There is no sound when it is in slow motion. There is sound when it returns to regular speed.

The sound dies at 1:33 . Any way to repair or repost?

@lori1551 There is no reason to re-work the foundation stitches trying to get them exact with the chain. I have been crochet all these years and will not get them exact half of the time. So often I hear people telling me they re-work the whole foundation trying to get it exact, when there is no reason to be exact. I never count a chain anymore. I just chain the width I need and modify the extra chain.
what size hook are you using?

@usmcrebelchick It may be a G or H. I can't see the size and I have several hooks that color.

what kind of hook do you use? i don't mean size, i mean the brand. i have been looking all over for that kind of aluminum hooks in stores but they don't sell them here. do you have a link where i could get those online? i am itching to try if i can work better with those than the ones i have. thanks in advance!

@ezmeraldav I have been using Boye Crochet Hooks for over 28 years. You can find them on Ebay and other online craft sites.
