  • Maharis sure sounds a lot like Sinatra. After he was dropped by the show he should have had a swingin' music career!

  • Super highways get us from here to there faster BUT the real culture of America has been lost. Route 66 really shows how we as a nation have changed, and not for the better.

  • @1957MCL Stay out of Walmart. Back to Main Street. Buy Made in America products. Respect your countrymen when they have it coming. Try to turn them around otherwise, and don't neglect self-improvement--always room for that. And don't mistreat the poor struggling "illegals"...what would you do if in their shoes? Sorry to harangue--words not personally directed.

  • @MrRonnieG Don't you feel a pang when you see a big old American car sometimes lazily hugging the highway instead of all this Japanese homogeneity? It takes me back to a time when...this country was different, it was the biggest it was the best and it was the greatest. I don't want to wallow in nostalgia, that was always for the birds but what's wrong with wanting your country back?

  • I couldn't agree with you more. I do my best to avoid interstates now and it's worth it because oddly enough some of the real America still exists out there. I don't care about getting to places in the fastest time possible, necessarily, I want to be able to feel some connection with America. Route 66 can never be recaptured, I suppose, but damn I hate to see what it represented just disappear. Yeah, I want America back. And bad.

  • I love Route 66 , also because I love cars too. Now after some 50 yrs later still love the show, now with the nostalgic side of those yrs without much of worries, peer pressures ,health ,family, mortgage ,car insurance etc LOL

  • @1915fas Yes, early 60s nobody have an idea what a good video it could be! George live the show little after this tour, Even today , we can't enjoy this Route 66 shows, cause there are having copyrights issues, a shame!

  • @jaurena47 Hey! That tour would have made a great video!

  • There are still some good sized stretches of Route 66 (a.k.a. The National Trails Hwy), in particular a 125 mile stretch running out of Kingman, Arizona (thru Peach Springs) and ending up in Seligman. Another 70 mile stretch runs from Ludlow, Ca. (thru Amboy and Essex) into Needles, Ca. Fortunately every state that was on the original 66 (which is basically I-40 to OKC, I-44 to St. Louis and I-55 into Chicago) has a Rt. 66 historical society which is preserving what's left of the Mother Road.

  • @cnomad He kinda did, with singles, etc. But I wish he never got sick. >:(

  • 子どもの頃に、父のCDでよく聞いていました!うれしい!!
