Ignatief. Ugh. He has spent too much time outside Canada to matter.
What the hell does he know about us? I moved out of my hometown 22 years ago and I couldn't imagine that I should become mayor. Talk about arrogance.
On a lighter note, we have a choice in our vote. One plays piano and sings at a prestigious gala, one who busks for coins with a guitar on a street corner, and one that reads a book out loud in a library. Teachers made me stop reading out loud in grade 2.
I'd like to know why he wrote in Granta Magazine in their Spring 2002 issue: "I believe in America in a way that Canada never allowed." I'd like a Canadian media person to ask him what he meant when he wrote that. I'd like to know or at least hear what his answer is. It could be a matter of to what extent his allegiance is to this country and/or to the USA, which may not matter to many Canadians but does matter to many of us.
PERFECT example of how psychopaths assume interviewers and their audience are all A.D.D. and easily deflected. Ignatieff,Bush,Cheney,Ahmadinejad all have an identical approach to questions they prefer not to answer. Only thing different here is how Mansbridge (as compared to the Toronto newspaper simpletons) refuses to let the deflections slide by.
