A high speed dozer makes sense for blue topping controlled by GPS. This machine is meant to cut and fill the last .01's of a foot not stump out a field. This dozer came about because of COMPUTER controlled blades. operator reaction time is no longer an issue. This is the trim brush of dozers.

@jeepncj 16mph? thats the same top speed as a ford 5000Y (unless alter the injector pump to allow more rpm)
-
i would hate to hit a nice rock at those speeds
-
isn't "high speed" for getting around the consturction yard faster then a conventional dozer can? obviously they're not going to push dirt at 16mph, but getting from one dirt pile to another would be quicker.

@kbknapp at high speeds you dont need a lot of pushing power to run out of power. In fact, at high speeds it takes power to roll those tracks around. So at high speeds, tracks are A. not useful, and B. less efficient than wheels. At low speeds, this HSD offers no advantage over a much more durable, real dozer.

For the same reason that you NEVER see a standard dozer with tires. you minimize ground contact with tires thus reducing the amount of weight you can push. The more surface contact, the better pushing power. Graders are only good for finishing, this machine can be used for both finishing and standard dozer work. 2 in 1 which is good especially for highway construction.

then all of a sudden hits a rock and the driver face plants the wind shield.
-
how fast does it go top speed and how mutch dose one of those coast
-
We just got one of these. You can use it for everything, not only finishing. It is a heavy duty dozer it has 210 hp. Its the ultimate combo machine.
Top speed for transport is 16MPH. As for your 2nd question I'm not sure you mean COST or COAST? List price is around $340K. It doesn't coast at all because it is hydrostatic drive.
