I can't say that I disagree w/ your argument per say, though my personal opinion is that the pipeline is a terrible idea. To run an oil pipeline over the Ogallala Aquifer is just folly. I would venture to say that the difference here is the XL Pipeline has met w/ a huge amount of public opposition while Solyndra (at the time) did not. Do I believe they should have received that money? Absolutely not. I do believe however that there are more deserving clean energy companies that should have.
