If you know anything about winter driving in Chicago, you'll know that a snowstorm can easily turn what should be a 40 minute commute into a 2 hour affair.

On this particular day, there was about a 6 inch snowfall, and I just so happened to capture my drive home on video.

  • Nice video. The fast forwarding makes it look like you're riding on one long, icy rollercoaster!

I see you did this in February back when it was ridiculously cold outside. Do you remember how cold it was on this particular day?

  • Even though there was a lot of snow, I don't think it was anywhere extremely cold. The shot at the end shows the outside temperature at 20 degrees.

  • MAN!! I used to HATE getting stuck behind the snow plows on the expressway... But like my dad said, with a Focus (the car that I have), its best to be behind them rather than in front of them...

  • video... good job!

  • HA! That's weird the other side of the rode which would being going into the city is moving!

  • Ha! caught behind the snow plows! I never get caught behind them...only because I left the north and moved to Alabama.....good vid though.

  • I was the same way back in 04 except I had to go outside no matter what. I'm originally from Texas but never experienced below zero weather and didn't know how I'd take it. It was easy to me. I got use to it quickly.

  • Were you on the the Tristate tollway?

  • cool vid

  • Looks cold girl, where are you gloves???

  • thats why you take public transportation

  • Oh yeah well, I guess it's not THAT cold. This was my first winter in Chicago, before I moved here I lived in Alabama, where 20 degrees IS cold. When the temps started getting down to -10 F and colder, I didn't leave the house! I didn't know how to deal with it at first, but now I'm more or less used to it.
