Hired Guns - Space Port - Log Entry 21

This is one of the few games I never completed - until this weekend. It only took 15 years (although most of those were spent with me waiting to discover the existence of Amiga emulators)! The clip shows just about the quickest way to complete the last level of Hired Guns. It's all about picking your battles - and not getting into fights you have virtually no chance of winning. The giant genetically engineered monsters at the spaceport are far more dangerous than anything you have encountered previously, and they are best avoided rather than taken on. In any event, they will soon be engulfed in a rather large fusion-induced thermonuclear explosion...

I never got to finnish the game until the days of AUE. The big shooting monters in this final level made me so afraid that I couldn't handle the terror as a twelve-year-old.

This was the first FPS I ever played - and at the time I don't think I had the skill to complete it at the age of thirteen. Having been through the likes of Quake, Half-Life, and AVP since it seemed more achievable - whereas I remember it looking impossible all those years ago.

I probably would have been younger than ten when my brother made me play this with him. May even have been as young as 6. Yeah, this game scared me too. xD

Man,its a rock hard game and all you get is a picture of an explosion at the end? I'd feel robbed!

Haha, well done. I never thought of the stealth route. As a young teen I only wanted to blow up absolutely everything !
