This is the One Arm Chin Up tutorial.

The training for the One Arm Pull Up is the same. This time the information turned out to be a little bit more than what YouTube allows me to upload so I had to cut some things out and leave other for an extra video. Still I hope the tutorial is easy enough to understand this way as well. Let me know if you have any problems or need any hints and I'll put some additional annotations!

This time together with the summarized version I'll upload some of the extra footage from this tutorial regarding information from The Super Athletes book and a conversation I've had with John Gill(http://johngill.net/). This will happen later this week.

Some of the things I learnt off of BeastSkills, check it out: http://beastskills.com/

  • hey dude dude dude dude. I gotta tell u something. I love your accent :D

  • @JDrakataka Hahaha, I find it annoying but I am happy somebody likes it. :)

  • Thank You for this great tutorial! How many training sessions per week is optimal?

  • @Mulckqvist Two to three. Make sure you don't overdo it or you'll end up injured for a while. The moment you feel even the slightest pain make a step back and rest. Also be patient, this one takes a while, at least a year if you ask me. :)

  • @closetoimpossible The injury turned out to be biceps rupture. So it takes about six weeks to heal. So the situation is not too bad.

  • @Mulckqvist How did it happen?

  • Brilliant! This is without a doubt the most comprehensive video on this topic that I have seen. Thanks For posting, OAC is now on my list of goals for 2011!

  • Here are a couple tips if you are wanting to do these and are in the 160 lb or lower range. Just work the one arm negatives and practice stopping halfway down for a second and then lifting yourself back up with the arm you're using to hang. For example, when i used to do these i would do 2 sets of 3 1 arm negs every other day. Once those were easy, which took like four days, i would alternate them with days doing 2 sets of 3 negs going halfway down and pausing then pulling back up cont...

  • @Britishmark77 did you manage it?!

  • I started training for OAC couple of weeks ago. My max chin-ups were 25 and was able to chin-up 60% of extra bodyweight. At the moment I can do chin-ups my other arm grabbing my elbow. I think this is one of the best tutorials out there... Someday I will learn the OAC :)

  • Great video! Thank you for the tutorial. I'm 6'3", 205lbs, so this will be difficult, but I'll get it eventually.

  • @Britishmark77
