This song makes me feel like 'Bird Girl' is alone and wants to be just like any regular person that looks at her with misunderstanding awe, and think of her as a freak that can't feel emotions. But that won't change for her because people will always look at her as a freak show prop, and this song expresses her grief and her desire to just 'fly away' and be in an understanding place.
O-or at least, that's what I imagine when I hear this song.
