  • It's a deal Mark and a fair one at that. I will strive to express myself with as much writing style and insightful content as I can muster on the subject of acting and acting "teaching."

  • Only. Is that a fair deal?

  • I would like to offer you a wider forum Vacheron. This video has a couple of thousand visitors. My blog has 22,000 each month. If you email me your blow by blow critique, I will repost the video on my blog with your entirely unadulterated critique. We can then publicly discuss it for as long as we like, sensibly. However let's start with being honest, we are not going to agree with each other, since you are hiding your identity, let's call off any personal comments and deal with acting issues o

  • So Mark here's a deal I'll make with you if you wish to participate. I will in respectful tones and manner critique each and every point of yours in this video. Which by the way is nicely done Mark. And you can answer here. Hopefully (well it will be a lot to hope for I guess) no one will call either one of us names. Hopefully the discussion will be filled with good information for all to ponder.

    What do you say Mark?

  • I don't doubt that you work hard on your teaching Mark. My responses to you were motivated by your attacks on others. And in the open forum that the world has seemed to become I decided to speak up about it. Vitriol is a rather strong word to apply to most of what I've said. I've got strong opinions about one area of acting teaching and I know I've upset one or two people but you may have noticed since you've "researched" me that I removed those comments in an effort to sooth feelings.

  • I have set myself up as a blogger Vacheron, I have set myself up to have an opinion. And 22,000 people read it every month and some agree and those that don't like my opinion don't have to read it. Now it's one that you don't like, and I respect that. Maybe you are right, with a successful studio, I don't need to attack others specifically, maybe you are right about that.

  • We've become complacent about acting have we Mark. Oh boy Mark. Who is the "we" Mark. It is as if you've set yourself up as a judge for how people are working on their acting across the world and found it wanting. How did you do that Mark? Complacency is one element that each individual faces in their struggle for artistic expression. Because it is a struggle. An individual struggle. But there are teachers working hard across the world to teach acting. As you seem to be doing Mark.

  • On the contrary Vacheron, last evening I posted your comments from below on our FB page, so that everyone can see them. Yes, I have attacked people because I think they are adding to a mythology around acting that is utterly unhelpful and further mires our profession in bullshit. You object to my style, my form and my content, you simply object to me.

  • As I once pointed out to you I'm merely playing with you (but for a purpose) say, I'm being Jon Stewart to you, the United State's Republican Party and their penchant for attacking people unlike them. I'm hardly attacking you. I'm making fun of you, which really takes alot more work than attacking you. I don't remember you including any of my comments when you like to post all the idiotic things that indeed have been said about you.

Mark, "we've become complacent about acting"

  • Your behavior Mark in that instance and many others in which you write "fuck this idiot" and so on and then encourage your students to join in the attack of whatever individual you wish to demean and humiliate because they don't teach the way you do is just plain wrong and encourages a detrimental attitude in your students because if your students work they will encounter all sorts of actors who work differently and "fuck this idiot" who works differently will not be helpful to them.
