@Leon2101 The ancient cultures, people like Aban, can see the Virmanas, can live forever, can bend reality to their will, and can predict the future, because those other creatures (which a modern theory says visited Earth) opened their 'third eye,' the spiritual one. When Keynes was touched by the creature, he had the same transfer of knowledge those creatures made to the ancient humans, who inherited these powers. The ending suggests he is being used as a weapon by the CIA.

@leon his "third eye" was touched, vast amounts of information was transferred, and he appeared to be sifting through it, in a catatonic state, and a side effect of his brain sifting through large amounts of data,his mind was dissociated, and more of his brain was being used, and his body levitated. it's not really explained, that' smyop inion

I loved this movie!!! But CAN ANYONE PLEASE EXPLAIN THE ENDING TO ME!!!!???

The movie is based on the mile long inscriptions carved into the ground in south america. The gold airplane looking piece was found at the old guys mud hut was a real article that was found in the Mayan ruins. The story was basically transposed from south america to Afganstan to give it a military feel. The end of the movie was the guy floating above the bed as one of the "godlike" Mayans had touched him. Other than that he was totally screwed up.

So much more tense than the blair witch. But only in certain parts. Apposed to the blair withc having the tension throughout... Still one of the most unique films you will ever see.

@ sk8r: being the fact that the one who showed no hostile actions, to the mysterious figures, his, "3rd eye" was activated, by the touch to his forehead. He was apparently retrieved by the cia, and held, so they can obtain the knowlege which was "downloaded, to his mind. Thats why he was floating.
